Captain Bill was my Captain who brought my yacht safely to Chicago from AL under very challenging high water conditions on the river with numerous obstacles and potentially dangerous situations. We were one of 4 boats traveling together and only one made it to Lake Michigan without damage and/or delaying the trip…and that was us! This was largely due to Captain Bill’s care and skill. He treated my new boat like it was his own and also took time to educate me on the ins and outs of the vessel during the 3 days I was on board. While he was a little apprehensive to allow me to join the trip because I think he thought I was going to be some “rich prick” and a giant pain in the ass, we quickly became friends and he continues to be a valuable resource for me. Would highly recommend Captain Bill for any boat of any size that needs a great captain to deliver their yacht safely.

I was referred to Captain Bill by my broker when I purchased my 2013 Sea Ray Sedan Bridge in Old Saybrook,  CT. The broker said Captain Bill had helped him in the past by bailing out a previous Captain when he had issues. After a couple of phone calls, I knew Bill was the right man for the job. He explained everything to me about how he operates from beginning to end and what to expect from him and his crew for the entire trip. I had no questions. The boat was coming to St. Joseph, MI and I had bad experiences with trucking my previous 52 Sedan Bridge. This time I decided to hire a captain to deliver my new boat on its own power. It was a lot more reasonable in price, and I didn’t need to remove my electronics from the radar arch. Captain Bill flew out to meet me in advance and went through the entire boat. During this process, he found an issue that he took care of before he left. He did all the provisioning and even went to Defender to pick up larger fenders for the Welland Canal locks while staying within my budget. He called me several times a day and even sent multiple photos that made me extremely jealous of his trip. He also used the NEBO app so I could see his course and speed at any given moment. That was super fantastic! He gave me a ballpark time frame for his travels, but he made it ahead of schedule. His pricing is fair and he is honest. He waited for me to show up after he arrived and went through the boat with me and gave me more information than I could even retain. His 1st mate Scotty was also fantastic! Stop looking if you need a boat captain because this is your man! Don’t forget to ask for Scotty too! The best part of hiring Captain Bill is I even got to make a new friend. Thanks again, Captain!

We originally hired a different captain to move our yacht from Maimi, FL to Chicago, IL. However, we quickly learned that we needed to find a different team to complete our delivery. Captain Bill Barnaby was referred to us by our broker based on his experience and dual citizenship (United States/Canada). Captain Bill and his crew did a great job. Throughout the journey, we were able to monitor the progress with NEBO while also receiving photos. We especially liked the Welland Canal images. Our yacht arrived on time without a scratch.
